The 2017 Robert The Bruce Dinner

The City of Stirling branch of the Scottish National Party would like to invite you to its 12th Annual Robert the Bruce Dinner on Friday, 3rd March 2017 in the ballroom of The Golden Lion Hotel, 8-10 King Street, Stirling, FK8 1DQ, from 7:00pm – 11:30pm.

Robert the Bruce was King of the Scots from 1306 until his death in 1329 and was one of the most famous warriors of his generation, eventually leading Scotland during the Wars of Scottish Independence against England. He fought successfully during his reign to regain Scotland’s place as an independent nation and is today remembered in Scotland as a national hero.

The City of Stirling SNP branch has held this event annually since 2006, not only as a way of celebrating his life and times but to cement his place in Scottish history in the form of a commemorative dinner. The event, although an SNP branch fundraiser, is open to non-members, in fact anyone who believes in due recognition for one of Scotland’s greatest sons.

Our guest speakers on the night will be Angus Brendan MacNeil, Member of Parliament for Na h-Eileanan an Iar and Chairman of the Energy and Climate Change Select Committee at Westminster, and also popular local Stirling archeologist, Dr Murray Cook. Also joining us will be our MSP Bruce Crawford, and the evening will be chaired by our local MP Steven Paterson.

Included in the ticket price is a three-course meal and there will be a raffle with some great prizes as well as some top musical entertainment in the form of Scottish folk singing legend, Alastair MacDonald.

Tickets are priced at £30.00 each (members) or £35.00 each (non-members) plus a small online booking fee. If you have any queries please telephone our event hotline on 07514 549943 or e-mail us at cityofstirlingsnp@gmail.com

All proceeds will go to the campaign fund to fight next May’s council elections.
