Stirling MSP Bruce Crawford has written to the Chief Executive of Stirling Council after speaking with a number of residents in Aberfoyle who were dissatisfied with the Council’s failure to replace picnic benches at the Riverside Carpark.
The previous picnic benches were removed a number of months ago due to disrepair and have not yet been replaced. Instead, the areas where they once were are marked out with luminous orange barriers.
Mr Crawford has highlighted the issues with this still being the case during the height of the tourist season.
Commenting, he said:
“It is frankly unacceptable that Aberfoyle residents have been forced to look at this incomplete work for such a period of time – nor is it good enough that the picnic benches remain in this state at the main car park site for visitors during the peak tourist season.
“That is why I have written to the Chief Executive of Stirling Council on this matter and I hope to see swift action in replacing the picnic benches in Aberfoyle before the summer is out. It is crucial that Aberfoyle is a welcoming place for families to visit – particularly during holiday periods.”
