The SNP Group on Stirling Council have renewed calls for the resignation of Tory Councillor Alistair Majury after further offensive tweets came to light. Councillor Majury was recently unmasked on Twitter as an extremist cyberbrit troll who has previously posted a number of highly offensive and hate-filled Tweets. Councillor Majury’s online alias “Mulder1981” was also found on a fetish dating website, where he boasted about the size of his manhood. More recent revelations of anti-catholic comments made by Councillor Majury on his Twitter profile have been condemned by the Scottish Catholic Church.
Responding, Stirling North SNP Councillor Susan McGill said:
“This form of bigotry and hatred simply cannot be tolerated and it is a complete disgrace that the Tories continue to stand by Councillor Majury.
“Given his history of hatred and extremist views, Councillor Majury must stand down from Stirling Council immediately. Sectarian hatred and bigotry have no place representing our local communities – if he doesn’t resign, the Tories must sack him.”
