Monday 24th October saw the launch of the Thin Red Line Appeal to secure the future of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Regimental Museum in Stirling Castle.
Attendees included local Stirling MP Steven Paterson, who has urged people to get behind and support this appeal.
The Museum is a significant feature of Stirling Castle, located in the King’s Old Building. The Regiment has been connected to Stirling Castle since 1794 – and it remains the spiritual home today. However, extensive modernisation is required to make the museum economically sustainable which is why this appeal has been launched.
The public appeal aims to raise the necessary £4 million in order to complete these works by 2019.
Steven Paterson said:
“This is a brilliant initiative and will give the renowned Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Regimental Museum the renovation it needs on order to continue to operate. This museum and Stirling Castle are central to the commemoration of our local and national historical heritage and I am delighted that this appeal has been launched and urge members of the public to consider supporting this very promising project.”
