City of Stirling SNP Branch

City of Stirling SNP Branch meet every 2nd Wednesday of each month in the Golden Lion Hotel, 8-10 King Street Stirling, with meetings usually convening at 19:30. Please check our events page and site regularly in case it changes and subscribe to our site and newsletter to be kept informed. All existing and new members are welcome and members of other branches are also welcome to attend but please drop us a wee email as if we have a particular demand we might need to hire bigger facilities for the night!

Branch Executive

See below the officers of our branch executive and how to reach them. Executive members ordinarily are elected into positions annually at the AGM in September.

Gerry McLaughlan

Branch Convener: Until recently, Gerry was a Councillor for Stirling East and one of the most effective campaigners for the area on Stirling Council. In the hiatus of Gerry’s council career which we are sure will resume shortly, Gerry has taken on arguably the more difficult role of leading City of Stirling Branch and making sure meetings run to time!

Grant Thoms

Branch secretary: Grant is a well known and respected member of the party and has recently been appointed to the National Executive. Grant knows the rulebook like the back of his hand. Grant is also editor of the Scots Independent Newspaper.

Lee Robb

Deputy Convener and Press Officer: Lee is Press officer to both the branch and to Bruce Crawford MSP and prior to his current role was Communications Assistant to Steven Paterson MP.

Morag Fulton

Equalities Officer: Morag is a seasoned campaigner on disabilities and equalities. Morag made her maiden speech at conference earlier in 2017 and is chair of the SNP Disabilities Group. If you meet her give her a hug!

Cllr Alison Laurie

Treasurer: Alison was formerly Press Officer for Bruce Crawford MSP before gaining election in 2017 to Stirling Council.

Joy MacNaughton

Political Education Officer

Melanie Cowie

Branch Organiser: Aussie Mel is one of the branches hardest working members and she can organise anything from a canvassing session to a branch party.

Eilidh Reid

The organising sub-group ensures we are all where we need to be, when we need to be there!

Winning campaigns takes hard work, a positive message and vision for our country. It also cost money. The fundraisers make sure we have the funds to fight the battles.
