IP Address Usage, Twitter

  • We use a Twitter Feed plugin to display social media content on our website. As a result, our website makes requests to Twitter’s servers in order to display text, images and videos. 1. Scope

All data subjects whose personal data is collected, in line with the requirements of the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Under the GDPR, personal data is defined as:

any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (‘data subject’); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.

2. Privacy notice

2.1 Who are we?

We are Stirling SNP, the Stirling contingent of the Scottish National Party.

Stirling SNP (referred to in this Privacy Notice as “she”, “her”, “we”, “our” or “us”) is the Data Controller under the GDPR. This privacy notice sets out how we process personal data about visitors (referred to in this Privacy Notice as “you” or “your”).

2.2 Why do we need your personal information?

We will use provided personal information to respond to enquiries, and for democratic engagement in line with all relevant legislation and guidance.

2.3 What types of personal data do we collect and process?

2.4 How will we use your personal data?

The personal data we collect will be used for the following purposes:

  • Where visitors have provided information via our contact form, we will use this information to respond to your enquiry, which may involve sharing your name and email address with colleagues who are best positioned to respond to your enquiry.
  • Where visitors have opted-in to receive such information, to send newsletters and other forms of electronic marketing communication via email..

2.5 Disclosure

We may pass your personal data on to third party service providers in the course of dealing with your enquiry, such as local authorities, government agencies, public bodies, health boards, regulators, and so on. Any third parties that we may share your data with are obliged to keep your details securely, and to use them only to provide us with information relating to the specific enquiry you have raised us.

Stirling SNP also contracts third party providers to provide specific services for the effective democratic engagement, in line with all relevant Electoral Commission regulation and guidance.

2.7 Retention period

Should you use our contact form to submit personal data, this will be held as long as is necessary to process your enquiry. Personal data will regularly be reviewed for need and securely destroyed.

The data of those signing up to mailings and newsletters will be removed when subscribers select ‘unsubscribe’

2.8 Your rights as a data subject

At any point while we are in possession of or processing your personal data, you, the

data subject, have the following rights:

Right of access – you have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you.

Right of rectification – you have a right to correct data that we hold about you that is inaccurate or incomplete.

Right to be forgotten – in certain circumstances you can ask for the data we hold about you to be erased from our records.

Right to restriction of processing – where certain conditions apply to have a right to restrict the processing.

Right of portability – you have the right to have the data we hold about you transferred to another organisation.

Right to object – you have the right to object to certain types of processing such as direct marketing.

Right to judicial review: in the event that Stirling SNP refuses your request under rights of access, we will provide you with a reason as to why. You have the right to complain as outlined in section 2.9 below.

All of the above requests will be forwarded on, should there be a third party involved

(as stated in section 2.6 above) in the processing of your personal data.

2.9 Complaints

In the event that you wish to make a complaint about how your personal data is being processed by Stirling SNP, or how your complaint has been handled, you have the right to lodge a complaint directly with the supervisory authority and with Stirling SNP.
