Stirling Council SNP Group Leader Susan McGill

Cllr Susan McGill is the leader of the Stirling Council SNP Group, and represents Ward 4 – Stirling North. She leads a team of 8 other SNP Councillors as the Opposition against the Labour/Tory administration.

Susan McGill has lived in Stirling all her life, and is an active member of the community – and a founding member of the Save Gillies Hill campaign. Susan was elected to Stirling Council in 2017 having been a long time SNP campaigner and is a Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife and Registered Health Visitor.

Cllr Gene Maxwell
Ward 1 – Trossachs & Teith

Gene Maxwell has been active in the Trossachs community for many years and understands the issues affecting our rural areas, towns and villages very well. A former Army Officer, he also worked in the Logistics industry, managed a local Restaurant and ran the fundraising operation for a successful national Charity based in Stirling.

Rosemary has been a Chartered Financial Planner for over 30 years.  Having seen how little was being done about the climate emergency and with increasing frustrations about the world of commerce, Rosemary decided to ‘walk the talk’ and opened a zero-waste refill shop in Stirling as a social enterprise in 2019 – putting the planet and people before profit.

Jim was first elected in 2007 but has been involved in local politics for over 20 years including a period as Secretary of Causewayhead Community Council for 8 years.

Born in Edinburgh in 1962, Scott attended Newbattle Abbey, Dalkeith. He graduated from the University of Stirling in Politics, Philosophy, Business Law and Economics. Scott is married with one child and was elected in the Borestone by-election in March 2006.

Willie lives and works in Stirling with 3 generations of his family. He is self-employed running a small fire sprinkler business and enjoys keeping active in the community.

Gerry McLaughlin

Gerry is a retired Chartered Engineer with over 30 years’ experience in Pipeline Engineering. Together with his wife Kate, they have brought our family up here in this area. Their children went to Borestone Primary and then onto Stirling High.

Cllr Brian Hambly
Ward 7 – Bannockburn

Brian is a former university lecturer and secondary school teacher, with experience chairing the establishment of a very successful social enterprise, a national charity and was a member of his local Community Council for a number of years.
