Stirling SNP Call for Suspension of Labour Councillor, Pending Hearing

Public Expect Better, Stirling Labour Leader Told

The Stirling SNP Council Group are calling for the suspension of a Labour Councillor from committees and activities, pending the outcome of a Standards Commission for Scotland hearing.

Complaints relating to the conduct of Cllr Danny Gibson have been reviewed by the Ethical Standards Commissioner, and the case has been referred to the Standards Commission for Scotland for adjudication.

Stirling SNP Council Group Business Convener Gerry McLaughlan has written to Chris Kane, Labour minority leader of Stirling Council, to urge a review of Cllr Gibson’s committee roles ‘both within the Council and particularly outwith where he is representing Stirling Council.’

Notes:

The hearing is currently scheduled for 21st June 2023.
