Joined Up Approach to Back Our Children and Young People
Alyn Smith, the SNP candidate for the Stirling and Strathallan constituency, has unveiled a comprehensive plan to support young people in the region. This initiative is part of the SNP’s broader vision to build a fairer, more prosperous Scotland, especially focusing on the needs of the younger generation. The SNP’s manifesto outlines key strategies aimed at enhancing educational opportunities, increasing youth employment, and providing better support for young people.
Key Initiatives for Young People:
- Educational Opportunities: The SNP is committed to ensuring that every young person in Stirling and Strathallan has access to high-quality education. This includes expanding free childcare, extending free school meal provision, and enhancing support for students to reduce the financial burden of education.
- Youth Employment: To tackle youth unemployment, the SNP plans to create new job opportunities through targeted investments in green industries and digital technology. Additionally, the party will work to ensure fair wages and better working conditions for young people, including the abolition of exploitative zero-hours contracts and the promotion of fair pay.
- Support Programs: The SNP aims to provide robust support systems for young people, including mental health services and community programs.
