5,650 Women Impacted in Stirling
Local Stirling MP has challenged both Rishi Sunak and Sir Keir Starmer to deliver a cast-iron guarantee that they will fully compensate the 5,650 WASPI women across Stirling.
Mr Smith has warned that a failure to do so would be a “betrayal to the women in Scotland who have been so badly let down by Westminster mismanagement and incompetence”.
Following the publication of the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman report, both the Tories and Sir Keir Starmer’s Labour Party have repeatedly failed to give a guarantee that their parties will honour Westminster’s responsibility to provide justice – and fully compensate the estimated 3.6 million WASPI women.
An estimated 5,650 women have been impacted in Stirling, with over 342,000 impacted across Scotland.

Long silenced, they deserve restitution for the egregious Westminster scandal they endured. The recent report from the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman unequivocally exposes the failure of Westminster to support these women.
‘Whether it’s Rishi Sunak or Sir Keir Starmer in No. 10 following the next election, both political leaders must pledge to rectify the injustice suffered by these millions of women who have been left behind by the system. Failure to do so would constitute a grave betrayal of the women in Stirling who have been grievously let down by Westminster. Their prolonged suffering demands immediate action, and it is incumbent upon both leaders to deliver the justice that has been denied for far too long.’
