Local MP Commends Stirling Generosity
Alyn Smith MP has congratulated volunteers, charities and businesses across Stirling for the hard work and festive spirit they’ve shown in the annual Stirling Observer Give A Gift Appeal.
Organised since 2008, the annual appeal helps to coordinate donations of new toys and gifts to vulnerable children and young people across the Stirling area.
After collection from drop-off points hosted by local businesses, the gifts are distributed via a wide array of local and national groups including Stirling Council’s social services, Stirling Young Carers, Home-Start Stirling, PLUS, Cornton Vale and Glenochil Family Hubs, Barnardo’s and Stirling Women’s Aid, Forth Valley Royal Hospital’s children’s ward, and Support4Families to name just a few.

‘These donations will be put to good use, and if you’re in the position to contribute to this worthwhile cause I’d urge you to do so. Thanks to the generosity of so many local people over the years, children have made special Christmas memories and that’s important now more than ever.
