Organisations Asked to Share Recent Experiences
Stirling MP Alyn Smith has launched a business survey, aimed at collating the experiences of local businesses during the cost of living crisis, Brexit-related disruption and recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.
The survey is available online, the results of which will help inform Alyn and key stakeholders as to the opportunities and barriers facing business in the Stirling area.
Uncertainty continues to pervade forecasts, as high energy costs, food bills and a growing mortgage crisis threatens growth, jobs and the wider economy – both in Stirling, Scotland and across the UK.

‘Local businesses are the lifeblood of Stirling – healthy, well-performing businesses provide much more than employment, but instead are an essential ingredient for thriving communities. Times have undoubtedly been tough, with the cost of living crisis continuing to deliver high energy and food bills. Brexit rumbles on, with further customs checks set for later this year. And the financial legacy of the pandemic still lingers, as consumers, businesses and employees are all left to deal with the economic impact.
‘I’ve launched this business survey as a way of gauging the health of Stirling’s local economy. I want to hear from businesses great and small as to how their operations have been impacted by recent events, and where they can spot opportunities or barriers to growth.
