Local MSP Evelyn Tweed has met with concerned residents and stakeholders of the Strathfillan Wigwams Village, to discuss closure proposals and the future of the popular tourist destination.
Currently a consultation is open, from site owner and operator SRUC (Scotland’s Rural College), regarding options for their site, which has hit financial difficulty in recent months as a result of the pandemic.
Ms Tweed was comforted by reassurances from the SRUC that potential means of staying open are being explored, and will seek further information on the issue as well as a meeting with SRUC Principle Wayne Powell.
Evelyn Tweed said:
‘The Strathfillan Wigwams obviously have a huge place in the heart of the community and further afield, and I was heartened to see that shine through during the consultation event. I understand the pandemic has been difficult for many businesses in the Stirling area, but remain hopeful, with the right partnership working, that the future of the site can be secured for future generations to enjoy.’
